Today I have really struggled with what title is fit to use on today’s post. I figured studded / colour fest but whatever title I use I have a feeling I will not stick to it today. I just feel inspired to share one struggle I have had and how I am improving and challenging myself. Maybe you can be my accountability partner?
When I began this blog I had only one BIG / HUGE doubt about it: My writing skills. The number of times I drafted and redrafted posts because I thought I wasn’t the best at writing was just unbelievable. Honestly I was the girl who couldn’t write great compositions and Inshas through out my primary and high school life. I always got the average mark or even below average sometimes and I knew languages was not my forte. The stereotype is that girls are good at languages and history the two things that gave me nightmares in my sleep but then again I like to think of myself as an extraordinary girl.
So when I decided I will start this blog my strategy was and still is to write like I am having a conversation with a friend. Yes you are my friend by force and I honestly feel like I am making great improvements. Things are turning out much better than I anticipated. I even receive compliments from some of you in the DM and I am like wow me? Are you sure? I know I still have a lot to learn. The best writers are good readers as well and that is an issue I am dealing with. I need to learn to love those books 😀 …Maybe Katie Miano can assist in that department…Please read more about the work she does HERE such a brilliant girl helping improve the reading culture for the next generation please check out her page (Pitch A Dream Organisation) HERE. Another girl whose writing skills are mad and I really admire is Wanjiku Mungai who runs a blog as well you can read it HERE. How blessed am I to have been classmates with such beautiful and brilliant young ladies?
In conclusion, as you can see my post title and content do not match for today but I hope you are inspired to pick up one skill you know/ think you suck at but are still interested in improving. You never know…you could just surprise yourself. What skill would you love to pick up and polish on? Public speaking? Drawing? Singing? Let’s chat and share ideas on FB, IG or the comment section below. whichever tickles your fancy.
